Yes, a simple majority on the City Council would certainly stop the granting of unnecessary zoning variances which only favor developers and the ‘campaign big donor class’ at the expense of residents.
Don’t believe me… I respectfully suggest you take a ride over and witness Tower 155 and it’s 170 unit impact on its’ neighbors (NE Mizner Blvd & E Boca Raton Rd). This tower is sadly just the beginning of much more to follow – Camino Square is on the back burner waiting for the election outcome.
This same simple majority gained by electing Monica and Kim will slow down this crazy march to being like the rest of South Florida; problems with crime, traffic congestion, homelessness, school overcrowding, etc. Do we really need to or want to march to the same drum beat?

WHY WOULD ANY DEVELOPER OR SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP GIVE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO JEREMY RODGERS OR ARMAND GROSSMAN IF THEY DID NOT KNOW FOR CERTAIN THEY WOULD GET THEIR VOTES FOR PROJECTS THEY
MAKE MILLIONS ON?

I hope no one forgets Jeremy Rodgers’ “no” vote on Ocean Breeze, and why he voted so. That act of treachery alone is enough to warrant his ouster.

Has anyone made a direct correlation on where Grossman and Roger’s political signs are being placed at particular commercial properties ? Obviously they would need permission from the landlord or they would be taken down by the city correct?

It is good to see that our citizenry are awakening, now we must work, hope & pray that there are enough of them to drain our own very deep swamp.

I’ve heard it said, we must have entertainment. This is partly the reason why we have neglected our civic responsibilities in the republic we live in, and therefore allowed our once beautiful city to be destroyed to satisfy the hunger for power, pride, & greed.

@Chris Scarpa: City ordinance says campaign signs can only be displayed on private property. Signs on commercial property are OK if allowed by the property owner. So, yes, you can correlate a campaign sign on commercial property as being connected to the property owner. Also, not all Investments Limited (Jim Batmasian) properties have those cheap ugly signs.

She has the active support of sitting Council Member Andrea O’Rourke who has proven to be the most resident-friendly Member of the Council since her election last year. If we are to finally see an end to runaway development in Boca, with all that overcrowding has wrought, Ms. O’Rourke needs an ally on the Council. We believe that Ms. Mayotte has the intelligence and commitment to fill that role.

We believe that shifting the balance of power in our City Council from developer-friendly to resident friendly is the key to securing a better Boca for all of us.
