Amtrak cancels long-haul trains, Tri-Rail weighs contingencies as national rail strike looms

    Amtrak suspended its long-distance trains and Tri-Rail mapped contingencies for a nationwide rail strike that could start Friday if unions and freight carriers fail to reach a contract settlement. Brightline, the inter-city train service, says it will not be affected.
