Supporters of bringing championship level golf into our city are encouraged to attend the 2/28 joint meeting of the City Council and Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District at 4:30-5:30 PM at the Community Center in the City Hall campus.  The only item on the agenda is the Ocean Breeze golf course issue.

The Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District wants to buy Ocean Breeze but they require the cooperation of the city for financing the purchase.  Show your support for bringing golf back to Boca by attending this meeting.

  1. I wish I could have been there to support but I am out of the country. Any idea how the meeting went? This would be amazing for the city!

  2. I was there on time but we were NOT allowed to enter the room where the meeting was taking place because we were told it ONLY holds 90 people and ut was full to capacity. For about 10 minutes I and about 20/25 more people were standing in the halway trying to listen to what was said. Then we were told to move and the guards closed the doors. This was very upsetting since we all are busy people but this meeting was very important and do to lack of planning couldn’t be part of.
Why wasn’t it held in a bigger room?
We missed out the being part of the meeting and what was resolved. At the end because some people left some of us were able to go in but missed the entire meeting.
I heard there will be another meeting in April. I hope who ever is in charge of scheduling have some common sense next time and reserve a room that can hold about 150 people. Hopefully people will attend even though it was a very unpleasant experience.
    Thank you.

    • It was recommended at the last City Council meeting that the next meeting on this topic be held at the City’s annex building at 6500 N. congress.
