The John S. James L. Knight Foundation is investing $1.5 million in the newly formed Center for Black Innovation in Miami. Additionally, Comcast NBCUniversal is investing $250,000 and the social justice charitable nonprofit Surdna Foundation is contributing $350,000 for a total of $2.1 million secured by the organization formerly known as Code Fever Miami.
